The EU’s WEEE directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) has set targets for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment so that environmentally and economically, this type of waste is recycled in the best way.
The aim of this Legislation is to reduce the amount of electrical waste going to landfill and to encourage recycling and reuse.
At Sackers, we take the disposal of all WEEE items, from IT equipment, televisions and tumble dryers through to telecoms equipment and lawnmowers seriously. Our set-up allows us to recover a large amount of recyclable elements such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastic and glass from electric and electronic equipment and to meet the stringent directives.
Whether you have electronic or electrical equipment in your home and can bring it to our site in Great Blakenham or if you’re a business that regularly needs to dispose of equipment, we’re here to help; talk to us about our site audit and collection service.
Sackers also work with partners that can security wipe hard drives in line with legislation and company obligations and welcome the chance to discuss your WEEE requirements in greater detail.
With the help of Sackers and our supporters we have reached a little over 85% recycling rate.
