Finance Director (part time, 2/3 year contract)

The role:

Is a fixed term contract for 2 years (with option on 3rd).
It is a part time role – 3 days per week (not necessarily evenly spread out throughout month/year)
Is a key part of the financial management of a growing and ambitious business.

The likely candidate:

Must be a finance professional (such as a qualified account) with extensive experience in designing, implementing and maintaining management reporting systems.
Will be highly motivated to help the company refine and deliver its short to medium term objectives.
Previous experience in a similar or manufacturing operation would be desirable.

Key responsibilities:

Working to support and mentor the finance manager with a view to assisting them to develop their own skills and experience to the point where they can be in a position to be considered as the company’s potential finance director within 3 years.
Reviewing and challenging the company’s management accounts, cash flow and budgets.
Investigating and understanding unusual variances in the company’s financial performance.
Reviewing and updating the company’s finance policies and procedures.
Reporting to the MD’s and Board of Directors.
Working alongside the current finance manager on the management board.
Delivering adhoc finance related projects as agreed by the board.

Qualifications/Experience:

ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent professional qualifications
Clear ability to identify, setup, manage and control projects.
Proven ability in decision making and managing various tasks at the same time.
Experienced in (Business Management) Accounts management.
Experienced in dealing with staff and clients.
