With the recent news on the investigation still going on to find the mother and circumstances of Baby S, it was a great pleasure to meet Klaire, Trustee of Suffolk Baby Bank. We raised over £2250 by doing 26 in 26 challenge to help the charity to support families in need of emotional and financial support. We met Trustee, Klaire Peck at Sackers – at a social distance of course!
“We cannot believe how much Sackers have raised, we’ve never had such a large amount in. It’s not just the funds but the commitment from the Directors and staff has been incredible and the fact they chose our charity to support. We rely very heavily on funds to support families in need and the money raised has allowed us to keep up with the huge growth of families in need in light of covid-19. We’ve seen a 400% increase in need of support to the point where some families can’t even afford to buy household items to wash their hands, clothes and other necessary goods or even learning resources. Whatever support the families need, we do what we can to support them” Klaire Peck, Trustee Suffolk Baby Bank.
“It was lovely to meet Klaire and find out how the money raised has been spent and helped families. We don’t know the circumstances behind Baby S but we felt touched by the situation that we felt we had to give something back to help mothers and families in need. It was a long challenge especially setting myself such high personal targets each day but it was worth it” David Dodds, Joint MD.
“We hope that the money we have raised has prevented any undue stress families may be facing in these uncertain times, and indeed when mental health is strained more than ever. We see mental health as a really big deal and we don’t know what happened in the Baby S situation but if we’ve helped just one family, it’s been worth it” Adrian Dodds, Joint MD
